Now that you finished organizing the rooms of your house as suggested in our Spring Cleaning Part 1 blog, it’s time to work on cleaning up the bigger messes. Let’s focus on these messes room by room to make them not appear so daunting!
Living Room – The living room is most important for cleaning because your guests will likely see any messes. Start by wiping down every thing from walls and doors to windows and screens. It’s a good idea to clean your windows and window screens in preparation for opening them for the spring breeze. Vacuum furniture and finish off with a thorough floor cleaning.
Kitchen – Once again, things such as windows, counters, and sinks should be wiped down. Clean out all of the appliances, especially the stove and oven and make sure you get rid of all of the food stains or crumbs. Don’t forget to clean the refrigerator and dishwasher, too.
Bathrooms – Wipe down the mirror and windows along with the sink. Clean the inside and outside of the toilet and take time to deep clean the bathtub and drain.
Bedrooms – Wipe down windows, doors, knobs, and other surfaces. Wash and dry the bedding and blankets while you clean the mattress. You could spot clean the mattress if necessary or sprinkle baking powder on it, wait, and vacuum to freshen it up.
Other – Throughout the whole house, make sure to dust and wipe surfaces. Make sure to vacuum or clean all of your rugs or mats. Also don’t forget about your porch and/or patio. Sweep up any leaves or debri that may still be there from the fall or winter.
When you finish all of these tasks you’ll be done with the big spring cleaning! Don’t forget to clean a little bit every day in order to keep your house clean and spotless!
