The bats are flying back into their caves, and the zombies are heading back into their graves. Halloween has come to an end. That is only one-third of the holiday season packed back up and stuffed into its boxes. Now the season of falling leaves, pumpkin pies, and turkey is upon us.
To prepare for Thanksgiving here are a few tips of what you can do to tidy up, especially if you’re hosting the family dinner.
1. Wash all the materials that will be used for Thanksgiving dinner. Scrub down the plates, forks, spoons, etc. Clean off the tables and chairs. Add a fancy centerpiece, such as a cornucopia for a flair of holiday feeling.
2. Along with the table and eating accessories, give your house a deep clean. Vacuum and mop the floor. Dust everything from your fall trinkets to the pictures and paintings on the wall. If you have any floor mats and rugs, check for stains and, if possible, throw them in the washer.
3. While you’re pulling your decorations out from a closet, the basement or your attic, tidy up the area. Most bacteria will build up, hiding away in the corners of those rarely used rooms. That doesn’t mean you can just let them go! Take the time to clean out the area!
4. If you’re having guests staying at your home during the holiday season, take time to focus on the guest bedroom. Wash the sheets and add an extra throw blanket at the end of the bed in case they need it. Go the extra mile by creating a cute basket with travel size toiletries in it and leave it in the room for them.
These are only a few tips that can help make your home sparkle on Thanksgiving. Space it out during the month of November so come Turkey Day all you will need to worry about is cooking the food! Looking for more Thanksgiving cleaning tips? Check out one of our past blogs!
