While you dig out the rest of the decorations, scrub down locations you’re planning on putting the tinsel, garlands and poinsettia. Make sure those areas are dirt-free because when January rolls around and you go to take the décor down, it will be a lot less of a pain wiping those areas off.
If you have a chimney in your home, whether it ever gets used or not, quickly wipe around the areas with some cleaner and get up in there to get any grime that has been out of sight for a while. Don’t let that blind spot keep building up!
