Whether you’re hosting your Thanksgiving dinner this year or attending one, there are a few cleaning tips to remember.
If you’re hosting, you’ll want to create a checklist of priorities to get through before turkey day. You shouldn’t leave all the work to be done the day before, so get a head start a few days in advance! You’ll also want to dedicate a day to the cooking. But first, make sure you have enough space to store it all.
Take time to make sure the rooms that your guests will be in are nice and clean. These rooms could include the kitchen, living room, dining room, and bathroom. Since there are a bunch of tasks to complete, rally up your family to help you get the job done. Give each family member a task to complete or a room to clean.
If you’re having guests staying at your house over Thanksgiving, be sure to take time to prepare your guests’ rooms. It’s always a nice extra touch to include a bouquet of flowers or a basket of toiletries in the room.
If you’re attending a Thanksgiving dinner at someone else’s house, be sure you ask if they need any help cleaning up when everyone is finished eating! Even though you’re at someone else’s home, you won’t believe how appreciative they may be if you offer to do some dishes or move some things back into place. Even bringing the plates and utensils to the kitchen after people are finished eating is a great help!
