- Groom your pets – Every other day, groom your hairy friend outside to get rid of those tiny hairs that would otherwise cling to your floors and furniture. Over time, they may not shed as much, so you can cut back on the grooming.
- Clean often in short bursts – Set a time for when you will clean for only about ten minutes every day. If you do this, it will prevent piles of clutter or boxes of old things from building up into a day-long task.
- Set up your dining room table – Setting up the table as if it were ready for dinner prevents inhabitants of the house from piling their things onto it. Though you may need to dust the dishes and silverware, it is better than the hassle of constantly moving things off the table only for them to be replaced later.
- Use mats – To keep your floors from needing deep cleaning too often, put mats, runners, and decorative rugs on the floor. Rugs are easier to clean than carpets, and can reduce the amount of dirt dragged in if they are placed both inside and outside of doors.
- Keep supplies stored throughout the house – If a mess is made, sometimes the cleaning supplies are just too difficult to drag out. Keep some cleaning supplies in cabinets or on shelves in multiple rooms of the house so you can quickly wipe up that mess before it leaves a mark.
