The New Year has arrived and with that comes people looking to create resolutions to better themselves. Why not make a resolution to keep your home clean? As we have discussed in a past blog, there are many benefits to keeping a clean home. If you haven’t had a chance to read the blog, check it out now. With that thought in mind, we want to reiterate a few things that you can do to keep your home clean.

Start With Your Cleaning Products
With all of the hype about natural products, it’s not so difficult to find a brand you will like. This year may be the right time to incorporate some natural cleaning products into your home and eliminate those harsh chemicals! Go through your cleaning products; organize and eliminate those that are never used and just taking up space.

Organize, Organize, Organize
This is one subject we have discussed in the past, and it will certainly help you keep your house clean longer. This is certainly not a task you want to try to accomplish in a day. Take time every day, or every few days and organize your house, room by room. Be sure to throw away, donate, or put away to sell those items that you don’t need or don’t want anymore. To learn a few professional organizing tips, check out one of our past blogs.

Deep Clean
Before you start doing some simple daily tasks to keep your house clean all year long, you need to do a deep clean after you finish organizing. Go through every room of your house and give everything a wipe down, really focusing on deep cleaning your kitchen and bathrooms.

Daily Task
Once you have your house organized and all of your rooms are deep cleaned, you want to focus on keeping your home clean! A few simple ideas include:

  1. Put things back where they belong at the end of the evening. If you used a blanket, fold it up and put it back in its place.
  2. Keep your sink empty and clean by cleaning any dish you used after you are finished with it or if you have a dishwasher, immediately put it in the dishwasher.
  3. Sweep up your kitchen floor every night.

Find out a few more simple tasks you can do daily by checking out one of our past blogs.

With the above tips, your house will stay cleaner longer, and you won’t ever have to walk into your house and cringe at the sight of your home! Instead, you will be able to get home from work and relax knowing your house is staying clean all year long!

Until next time, happy cleaning!
